The McGinty suggested by Ed. (The McGinty would look great with a Kilt Ed!) Gouache with a watercolor background

Charles McGinty conceived the McGinty in 1883. McGinty was from Chicago and came up with this as a bass fly originally. It was designed to have the appearance of a bee or wasp.

What a novel approach to a blog. Keep up the good work.

These are great flies! I really love the colours you chose for the McGinty.
I like your choice of subject matter, too. I think my Dad would have loved reading your Blog. He and I went fishing together a lot when I was younger.

Jeff, I just followed your link from Every Day Matters, and I LOVE your flies!! I sent a link to my dad and sister, both of whom flyfish. My dh suggested that you should submit these to a sports fisherman's magazine- I'll bet you'd get them published. They are beautiful!

Nice one....I think you are getting the hang of it. Gouache next to watercolor can give you some beautiful work, as the mediums contrast between the transparent and the opaque. Again, love the colors
