No. 13

Another watercolor splat fly. I brushed some color on a scrap piece of mat board, then pressed it onto watercolor paper. This made the wing of the fly. Then I painted in the rest. It is fun to see what type of pattern you end up with.

These are wonderful!! I know a fly fisherman who would probably buy tons of these and frame them for his office! (via EDM)

KPW - Thanks for dropping by and taking the time to post a comment. In the upcoming weeks, selected pieces will be available for purchase. So let your fly fisherman know. They will make great unique gifts. Fly fisherman tend to be difficult to buy for. I know this from experience!

You and my brother would get along famously. He's a trout bum too! All of your drawings and paintings are exceptional! I love the colors and textures. With the variety of flies out there ... you will be drawing for years! Love it!

Great technique - like the the lazy-man's monoprint - I love it! This one turned out simply beautiful.

This is my favorite fly. What a great idea you've had!

I've shared your blog link to several folks I work with who fly fish and tie their own flies.
